Your love, O God, reaches to the heavens, and your faithfulness to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the strong mountains, your justice like the great ocean. You save both people and other animals, O God. How precious is your love! (Psalm 36:5-7)
Sometimes I go through the scrub and tea tree to Levy’s Point. Sometimes I am all alone with the sand and sky and the rolling waves reaching the shore. All is untouched by humans.
I feel the sheer beauty of creation. The colours of vegetation, soil, sand, sea and sky. The Lord God created this most lovely.
I see and feel the power and strength of the Lord as the waves wash onto the shore.
I feel the salt air on my face and I am refreshed once again. I have been with my Lord and am grateful for his continuing presence, freely provided by his creation. Thank you, Lord.
Now I sit in silence on the sand. Be still my soul. Soon I return to the world at large, aiming to do things better in the Lord’s name, relying on his continuing help in my heart. Ω
