O Holy One:
You welcome the clean of hand
and pure of heart.
As I wash my hands,
wash away my guilt also.
Cleanse me of all violence, greed, envy and hate;
any tendency to manipulate;
make my heart white as snow.
For you did create us to worship you:
this we know, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen
Who may ascend to the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in her holy place? Those who have clean hands and a pure heart. (Psalm 24:3-4; Proper 10B, Ordinary 15B, All Saints B)
The handwashing continues. Therefore, just as we offered a prayer for handwashing last week, so too this week. You might like to stick it above your main handbasin or, of course, write your own 20-second handwashing prayer. You can find tips on writing a collect (structured prayer) here.
In other news, we are throwing together a little grab bag of prayers and practices to sustain you during shutdown. It will be sent to all regular attenders this week. If you are not a regular but would like a copy, drop us a line.
In the meanwhile, stay well, stay inside, and keep washing those hands!
Peace,
Alison
